KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Registration for students entering kindergarten for 2010-2011 will be held on Thursday, February 25 from 4:30 – 8:00 and Friday, February 26 from 9:00 – 11:30 and 12:30 – 3:30 in the Hammonasset Room at Town Campus. If you are unable to attend the scheduled registration, registrations must be done through Sara Caraszi at Central Office, 10 Campus Drive (203)245-6307.

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION

Students eligible to enter kindergarten in September 2010 must reach their fifth birthday by December 31, 2010. It is not necessary for the children to be present at registration.

  • Birth certificates must be presented at the time of registration.
  • Kindergarten physicals performed 12 to 15 months prior to entry into Kindergarten, are acceptable, provided they are on the blue State Health Assessment form.
  • All out-of-state students are mandated by the State of Connecticut to have a physical assessment performed before entering Connecticut schools. If the assessment was done in the previous state within one year of entry into Connecticut schools, it can be accepted on the blue Connecticut form.
  • Immunizations required for school entrance must be reviewed by the school nurse before a student can be cleared for entry.
  • If it is necessary for your child to take medication during school hours, an authorization form can be obtained from the School Health Office.
  • Please inform the nurse of food allergies, diabetes, asthma or any health concern that may impact on your child’s safety. Appropriate personnel and transportation services will be informed of serious health conditions.
  • Students entering from outside of the U.S. are required to have a physical exam by a provider licensed to practice in the United States. TB testing is required as part of the physical exam.

PLEASE NOTE: Parents electing not to register their age-eligible child will be required to sign a waiver to that effect.
