Early Dismissal Days

Dear Parents,

As we approach tomorrow's early dismissal day, I thought it might be helpful to provide a quick reminder about our student dismissal procedures on scheduled and unscheduled early dismissal days.

Scheduled Early Dismissal Days

Scheduled early dismissal days are the ones that are included on the MPS School Year Calendar. This includes the scheduled early dismissal days on 10/25 and 10/26 for Parent/Teacher Conferences. This  also includes 11/22, 12/22, 1/30, 2/7, 2/8, 5/15, and the last day of school. On scheduled early dismissal days, the school follows each student's regular daily/weekly dismissal plans, as well as any special dismissal plans described in notes sent in by parents.

Unscheduled Early Dismissal Days

Unscheduled early dismissal days are the ones that occur at the last minute and are usually associated with inclement weather. On unscheduled early dismissal days, the school follows the dismissal plans described on the Unscheduled Early Closing Form, which parents are required to submit at the beginning of each school year. If parents need to alter these plans on the day of the unscheduled early dismissal, they should call the main office as early in the day as possible.  I hope this information is helpful!
