Softball

Tigers,

 Softball registration is now open through Family ID. Please make sure you get yourself registered as soon as possible. You will not be allowed to attend Pitchers & Catchers week or Tryouts starting on March 16th if you are not registered and approved by the school. Please see the attached March 2024 schedule. Times, Dates and Locations are Subject to Change because of weather or other related issues. Always check on Google Classroom or with your captains if you are unsure of something.

 Starting Immediately all players should begin the process of Preparing Their Arms for the Season. Please begin to start stretching daily and try to schedule time to throw with a family member, friend or teammate. Don’t be the person who picks up a ball on March 16th and starts throwing for the first time. This will and has in the past led to injury. Also with that please start your glove prep. If your glove is in the bottom of your bag untouched from last year it will not be ready for day one.

 March 4th-8th, Monday through Friday we are offering a 3-4pm Non-Mandatory Workout on the Polson Turf. This is a conditioning workout involving running, agility, ladders and body weight exercise. You can wear cleats or sneakers and comfortable, warm workout gear. Please bring plenty of water. Do not bring any of your softball equipment!

 March 8th Team Meeting In Daniel Hand High School 2-3pm.

 March 10th-14th, Sunday through Thursday is Pitchers & Catchers Week 3:30-5pm. There will be a separate invite to those who will be expected to attend. We are only allowed to take so many players so do not be upset if you are not invited. If you are not attending, use that time to prepare yourself for March 16th. Depending on weather this could end up being inside.

 March 16th & 17th, Saturday & Sunday are Tryouts. This will consist of a double session practice 9am-11am, 11-12 lunch and then second session 12-2pm. Coaches will use this time to evaluate all players and choose the Varsity and Junior Varsity Rosters.

 March 18th - 23rd is a Gauntlet of a Week. We will scrimmage 4 teams in 6 days. Two of the teams will be in the Gametime CT Top Ten.

 March 24th - 30th is the Final Pre-Season Week. We have more of a regular after school practice schedule with one Scrimmage mixed in.

 April 1st is Opening Day! We open up at Guilford.
