Eco Club Fundraises for “A Place Called Hope”

Last week the DHHS Eco Club held a school-wide raffle to raise money for A Place Called Hope, bird rehabilitators located in Killingworth. Club advisor Elisa Brako said the facility was struggling to raise money due to COVID restriction over the past year. The club set a goal of raising $100 so they could “adopt” an eastern screech owl named Kokopelli who is recovering at the facility. The club ended up raising $200 for A Place Called Hope and was then able to “adopt” two birds. All dollars go towards the birds’ upkeep and care.
