Ryerson “Penny Wars” Raise $2000 for Make a Wish

Throughout the month of February, the Ryerson community held its first “Penny Wars”, a competition among grade levels to raise money. Students were encouraged to bring in change that was used for fun math activities including counting, predicting, and estimating. At the end of the month, the money was totaled and the winning grade level got to choose which charity to donate the $2,000.20 to. Grade 2 raised the most money and selected “Make a Wish”, an organization that grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, as the receiving charity.

On March 29, a representative from Make a Wish stopped by Ryerson school to accept the donation and thank students and staff for their generosity!
