Gr. 5 Band/Orchestra 2023-24

Introduction to Band - Introduction to Strings:  An extra music option for Grade 5 students in 2023-24.

When students are in fifth grade at Brown Intermediate School, they will have a variety of opportunities to participate in the performing arts. Fifth graders will continue having one trimester each of the following classes:  Theater Arts,  General Music,  Xylo-Rhythms.

In addition to the above performing arts classes, students in grade five will also have the option to begin instruction on a band or string instrument. Introduction to Band and Introduction to Strings are group lessons that meet once a week throughout the school year. This is a pull-out program, so once a week students would miss homeroom and the first 10 minutes of the first core class at attend an instrument lesson.  Students may choose from one of the following instruments:

Violin, Viola, Cello, Bells/Drum Pad, Baritone, Trombone, Trumpet, Alto Sax, Clarinet, or Flute

Parents should complete the registration form and return it to Brown before April 6.
