Choices Matter Presentation

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends of Daniel Hand,

Yesterday we held a school wide assembly in our gymnasium in our ongoing effort to meet both the social and emotional - as well as the academic - needs of our students.  The presenter was Chris Sandy, a motivational speaker, life coach, author and mentor who uses his own drunk driving tragedy to impress upon students that choices matter and that some of them can have an impact that last a lifetime.  After the presentation, the Choices Matter team spent the rest of the day at their interactive booth in the Dining and Assembly Hall offering students a chance to use a driving simulator, wear goggles and "walk the line."

Please consider engaging in discussion with your child about their opinion and thoughts on yesterday's message, and the importance of safe driving habits.

We hope that yesterday's speaker will help all our students think twice before either drinking and getting behind the wheel, or getting in the car of someone who has been drinking.
