2019 Peru Trip

"From ancient Inca cities to Lima's sprawling landscape, and from lush Amazonian jungles to the snow-capped Andes, Peru's culture and countryside offer no shortage of diversity. Take a journey into the southern region of Peru, where you'll explore archeological treasures like Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. Then, venture south to one of the highest lakes in the world, Lake Titicaca, where you'll be in the indigenous cultures of villages surrounding the scenic lake. Working together with locals, you'll participate in meaningful service projects focused on eco-tourism, community development and cultural immersion" (eftours.com).

Are you interested in having your child take part in this type of service learning during high school?

Would you like your child to be able to apply his/her language skills in an immersive cultural experience?

Will your child still be enrolled at Daniel Hand during the summer of 2019 and have taken at least Spanish 3 by that time?

If so, consider signing him/her up to participate in the Peru 2019 Service Learning Trip with Mr. Josh "Profe" Hibbard, a Spanish teacher at Daniel Hand High School.  Mr. Hibbard has traveled with DHHS students to Spain and Costa Rica in the past, and recently received approval to run this trip in July of 2019.

Feel free to contact Mr. Hibbard with any questions.
