Transition Programs and Activities

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are completely committed to a smooth and child-centered transition as the district is reconfigured next school year.  As part of the district reconfiguration plan, a menu of core transition programs and activities have been developed for parents and students.  For those students attending a different school next year, these activities are intended to assist families in transitioning to their new school.

As you can see in the link below, there are multiple opportunities for parents and students to formally visit and learn about their new school, and to meet their new classmates where applicable.

The core transition programs and activities include:

  • social events which combine the current elementary schools,
  • social events at Brown and Polson schools,
  • visits from building principals to sending schools,
  • evening meetings for parents, and
  • student visits to their new school.

I'd like to emphasize that parents are always encouraged to contact the building principal at any time to schedule additional individualized meetings if necessary.

By Friday October 5th, official redistricting information will be shared with parents.  You are encouraged to review the core transition programs and activities in advance of the redistricting notification so that you can be assured of the care and consideration we will take as we aim to seamlessly transition next year.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact my office directly.
