Dear Jeffrey Families,

It is truly a pleasure to see your children each day as they come to Jeffrey to learn and grow!  Students are making great strides in all areas of the curriculum.  The energy in the classrooms is tremendous as students share their thinking with peers, teachers and complete their individual work.  We look forward to sharing examples of this energy and rigorous work at our October conferences. 

This week there are two early dismissal days for students so staff can meet with parents.  Early dismissal days will be on Wednesday, October 17th and Thursday, October 18th.  Students will be dismissed at 1:00 on both Wednesday and Thursday. Please plan accordingly for your child on these shortened days. 

Remember that this week (Sunday Oct. 14th- Thursday Oct 18th) is Jeffrey school week at Grand Apizza.  Take a night off cooking and a donation is made to Jeffrey.  Remember to take the form with you!

Please join us on October 24 at 9:15 a.m. in the library for a discussion about online resources in the library, helping your child choose and "just right book" and how you can support/encourage reading at home. 

I would like to share at this time our school plans for Halloween.  Students are allowed to wear a costume to school on Wednesday, October 31st.  They should wear their costume to school and bring a change of clothes if necessary.  There will be a brief parade around the building then the day will continue with other fall activities and lessons.  Please keep accessories such as pretend swords, wands, ropes, etc at home.  Although these enhance a costume, these can be both distracting and unsafe in a school setting.  I appreciate your support with this request. The parade will be for students only, but teachers will share some photos.

Lastly, there is no school on Thursday, November 1st.
