School Picture Retake Day – Wednesday, Oct. 24

Students who are having their pictures retaken will need to bring in the original picture packet that day. Student who are having their picture taken for the first time should pick up an order form in the main office.

Halloween Guidelines

On October 31st, students are allowed to wear costumes.  For all students who choose to dress in costume, we request they bring in a food item for the Madison Food Pantry.  Items needed at this time are: tuna, soup, baked beans, children's juice boxes and snacks, and cake/cookie/brownie mix.

Halloween costume guidelines:

  • No masks, accessories (shields, swords, etc...) or parts that cause distractions (flashing lights, siren noises, large costume parts etc...).
  • No violent or inappropriate themes (please feel free to contact administrators or school counselors if you have questions about a particular costume).
  • Students need to be able to sit and speak comfortably in any costume.
  • Hats are allowed, but should not obstruct a student's ability to see in classrooms or in the hallways.
  • School rules apply related to dress code and appropriateness of costumes.
  • Any face paint or color hair dye/spray must be applied at home.

Please remember that this is completely voluntary for students.  Our administration at Brown School completely supports student and family decisions related to costumes. Although October 31 is Halloween, it is also a regular school day and costumes should not interfere with learning.
