March 13, 2020 Events Cancelled at Jeffrey School Good Morning Jeffrey Families,
By now, I am sure you have read the Superintendent's message regarding COVID-19. It is the recommendation of Governor Lamont that all towns and schools in Connecticut modify, postpone, or cancel gatherings of 100 people or more. Effective immediately, all after-school events and some non-essential "in-school" events, such as all-school assemblies, of 100 people or more will be postponed or canceled through April 30.
At Jeffrey, the following school-wide evening events will be canceled:
The following all-school assemblies and field trips will be canceled:
Because of the uncertain nature of school closing, at this time, these upcoming events will be canceled with no plans for them to be rescheduled. As we continue to monitor the situation and follow the recommendations from the CDC and state and local agencies, should things change; I will let you know. Events planned for May and June will be reviewed at the end of April and the decision as to whether these events will occur for our students and learning community will be communicated to you in a timely manner.
Our number one priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and all those within our learning community. We continue to practice the following steps each day to keep us healthy and well-protected at Jeffrey:
All students begin their day washing/sanitizing their hands during their morning routine/work time Thank you.
Sincerely, Becky Frost
