May 22, 2020 Week 8 Distance Learning Information May 22, 2020
Dear Ryerson families,
Happy Friday! I hope everyone's week was productive and successful with many found moments of recreational play!
Distance Learning. If you are dropping off student work for Week Seven, please do so by dropping the materials off in an envelope in the "Drop-off Bin" located in the front of the building. These materials will be scanned on Tuesday, May 26th and sent to classroom teachers. Feedback from your child's teacher will be communicated to you in a timely manner.
The Week Eight student packets will be ready for pick-up today (5/22/2020) after 10:00 a.m. in the front of the building. These packets will be available throughout the long weekend for families to access. As always, there are gloves and sanitizer available for all families to use when picking up and dropping off materials to ensure everyone's safety at this time.
We are so excited to share another closing activity with all of you. Students will be receiving in the Week Eight Packets a project to complete if they wish to do so for our "See you Next Year Ryerson Garden". While this year did not end the way we had planned or would have wanted, we want you to know how important and special you are to our school. Each student is unique and special. Every Ryerson Student is filled with different talents and qualities that make them awesome. Together, when we combine all their talents and gifts, they make Ryerson Elementary School….a very special learning community on the hill. We would like to showcase our collective talents by creating a Ryerson Student Garden. In this week's student packet, materials and directions for how to complete the project will be included for students. All completed flowers are to be returned to the school by June 5th in an envelope in the "Student Drop-off Bin". The Ryerson garden will be on full display at our Ryerson Reverse Parade scheduled for Thursday, June 11th.
I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no Distance Learning on Monday, May 25th. Distance Learning for Week 8 will begin on Tuesday, May 26th.
