May 26, 2020 Year End Dates to Remember May 26, 2020
Dear Ryerson Families,
Welcome to Week Eight of Distance Learning. I trust everyone had a wonderful long weekend with a few family cook-outs in the back yard!
The Week Eight student packets have been available throughout the weekend and remain available for pick-up today in the front of the building. In addition, if you would like to drop off Week Seven materials today, we are ready to receive and will send the work electronically to your child's teacher. We are also continuing to collect library books! We would ask that those overdue library books make their way back to Ryerson School.
We hope you have all marked your calendar for the "Ryerson Reverse Parade". It will be held Thursday, June 11th. Students and families are encouraged to come by car to Ryerson School and wave farewell to this school year and hello to summer along with our staff who will be standing along the "parade route" at Ryerson School wishing you well. In order to ensure the safety of all participants along the parade route, we are scheduling the "Ryerson Reverse Parade" into two blocks of time. The parade schedule will be:
· Kindergarten and Grade One Reverse Parade – 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. · Second Grade and Third Grade Reverse Parade – 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
We ask that you and your child attend the assigned time and participate by car in the parade. There will be markers along the parade route for cars to follow safely. We ask that no adult or child disembark from the car at any time. Staff will be standing safely throughout the parade route to say goodbye to our school year, to your child and to wish you all a wonderful summer break. The Madison Police Department will also be on site during the parade to direct the traffic through the parade route.
In addition, if your child will be participating in our Ryerson Student Garden, all completed flowers must be returned to Ryerson School in an envelope and placed in the drop-off bins by June 5th. All the materials needed to complete the project were placed in the Week 8 student packets.
Throughout last week and this week, classroom teachers have been coming into the building and organizing student materials left behind in March. Teachers are placing student materials in plastic bags. These bags will be labeled with each child's name and will be available for pick up in the front of the building within our bins beginning Friday, June 12th. All student work, materials, supplies will be in these bags and ready for pick up after 10:00 a.m. on 6/12/2020.
Finally, we hope you will be attending the June PTO General Meeting. It is scheduled for June 9th at 7:00 p.m. by ZOOM. The new officers for the Executive PTO Board will be voted in at this meeting.
As always, your support and continued partnership during this distance learning is appreciated. If you are in need of further support and/or have questions and concerns, please contact me. I am here to help!
Stay healthy and safe,
Kelly K. Spooner
