June 5, 2020
Dear Brown families,
We are officially into the final phase of Distance Learning for the spring of 2020. Thank you for your patience and partnership through these past ten weeks. One more full week to go…the end is in sight! Important Brown information:
1. Packets for Next Week: copies for Math and Social Studies are available for pick up at Brown. 2. Grade Level Celebrations: We are working out details to make the drive though/pick up convenient and safe. Grade 4 will be Monday, June 15th. Teams 4-1 (Townsend and Lunn) and 4-2 (Seales and Karimi) will be from 11:00 – Noon and Teams 4-3 (Smith and Pfaffenbichler) and 4-4 (Soboleski and Kraus) will be from Noon – 1:00 PM. Please note, this is not a "parade", rather an hour window for parents to drive through Brown, pick up materials that we have organized for you, and wave hello/goodbye to teachers. The Grade 5 schedule will be as follows: Tuesday, June 16th: Team 5-1 (Fumiatti and Pluchino) and Team 5-2 (Prendergast and Merullo) from 11:00 – Noon and Team 5-3 (Warner and Leonard) and Team 4-4 (LaPointe and Bransfield) from Noon – 1:00 PM. Details specific to the routes and pick up locations will be sent out next week. 3. Report Cards and Yearbook Distribution: Trimester 3 Report Cards will be placed in the student pick up bag. These will be the last item placed in the bag so it will be on top. Yearbooks for students who ordered them will also be in the student pick up bags. 4. Locker Clean Out: It was an interesting experience cleaning out lockers alongside the custodians. Overall you should be proud as parents with how organized and relatively clean the lockers were. (Although there were a few lunches, snacks, water bottles etc. left at the bottom of a few lockers.) 5. St. Jude Math-athon: I am pleased to share that Brown students raised $2,739 dollars for this wonderful cause. Great job!
6. Musical Instruments rental returns: (Grade 5 students only) If you have a Connecticut Music Company instrument and are not planning to renew your rental contract, you may drop off your instrument at school on June 16th. Rental returns for any other music company should be returned directly to the store. Students who are using school-owned instruments should also drop off their instruments on June 16th. Any questions please contact Jessica Shaver (shaverj@madison.k12.ct.us).
Have a Great Weekend!
Thanks Frank
