June 8, 2020 Distance Learning ~ Week 10 June 8, 2020
Good Morning Ryerson Families,
We are ready to begin Week 10 of Distance Learning! There is much to do this week to show your Ryerson Pride! On Wednesday, June 10th; we hope everyone within the Ryerson learning community will be participating in the MPS Elementary Virtual Field Day from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Please be sure to be checking out the PE google classroom for more information regarding equipment, the events, and the plan. Most importantly, I wish everyone a fun morning!
On Thursday, June 11th the "Reverse Ryerson Parade" will be held on the Ryerson campus. Our parade route will be lined with Ryerson staff waiting to wish you all a wonderful summer and to say farewell to the 2019-2020 school year. The parade route for cars will be clearly marked and the MPD will be on site to safely direct traffic through the route. The times for the parade will be:
· Kindergarten & Grade One: 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. · Second Grade & Grade Three: 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
These last few weeks, the Art Teachers have had a project for students to complete. The project- "Surprise a Graduate" – asks elementary students to make a "little something" (bookmark, picture frame, name art, or anything the artists wishes to create) with a little piece of advice to our DHHS seniors from our youngest learners. There are 284 DHHS seniors graduating on June 18th. At this time, between both elementary schools, there are only 86 projects completed and returned. We need your help! Please consider having your child participate in this project for our DHHS seniors. We would ask that completed surprise projects for seniors be returned to Ryerson Elementary School by Thursday, June 11th. Thanks in advance for your support.
Student Packets for Week 10 are available! These packets have been available since Friday, June 5th. If you ordered a Ryerson t-shirt, these have been placed in the Week 10 packets. If you have completed work for Week 9, please drop completed materials in the "drop-off" bin. And, keep those library books coming. We are still at over 100 books checked-out.
Grade three families, a special delivery will be happening today! Be sure to be on the look-out in your neighborhood this morning! You never know who you might see and what you might see!
Just a reminder, student belongings will be ready for pick-up at on June 12th. If you borrowed a Chromebook during Distance Learning, the drop-off date to return the device is June 22nd at DHHS. Have a great week! I hope to see you all on June 11th.
Stay healthy and safe,
Kelly K. Spooner
