October 9, 2020 Dear Families and Colleagues,
I am deeply saddened to report that earlier today we learned that one of our Daniel Hand High School students has passed away. This loss is incomprehensible and as a school community we extend our deepest condolences to the student's family and loved ones.
Every student contributes in no small measure to the community we create together here at Madison Public Schools and the death of any student is an extremely painful loss to bear. In times like this, families offer the most comfort for their children as they start to process the loss of such a young life. How we cope with tragic news can be much more difficult now due to the pandemic and we encourage all parents and guardians to speak with their students to help them work through their grief and concerns.
During this time, as the school community processes this loss, we will offer counseling and support services to all students at Daniel Hand High School and Polson Middle School. Mr. Salutari and Ms. Hart will be sending a message to their respective school communities tonight.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's principal.
Please know we are here to support you in any way we can.
Very truly yours,
JeanAnn C. Paddyfote, Ph.D. Interim Superintendent of Schools Quicklinks 10 Campus Drive • Madison, CT 06443 • (203) 245-6300 |
