March 19, 2021 Placement for 21-22 School Year Hello, Jeffrey Families,
As parents and educators, we desire the same thing for our children—the very best possible education. Here at Jeffrey School, we are committed to every child's success. Our goal is to create balanced classes which meet the academic and social needs of your child.
Meetings for placement into grades one through four will take place during the months of April and May. At each grade level, classroom teachers along with our professional support staff will meet to provide input for placement for the 2021-2022 school year.
As you may know, each of our classes is a heterogeneous group of children. When we develop our classes, we consider reading and math abilities, gender, learning style/teaching style, behavioral patterns, peer relationships and overall class balance.
The professional staff has the responsibility to determine the best placement for each child. If your child has needs which are not already known to the school or if you would like to share your view of your child's learning style, please submit this in writing (email or letter) to me by April 2nd. Please note we are not able to consider requests for specific teachers or friends, but assure you that we will strive to make the best placement for your child.
We appreciate your input and will give it serious consideration. Through a collaborative partnership, we are confident that we can provide the best possible instructional program for every Jeffrey student.
Sincerely, -Becky Frost Principal, Jeffrey Elementary School Madison, CT 203-245-6460 Tiger PRIDE!
