May 4, 2021 May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This has been recognized nationally since 1949. 51.5 million adults in America face the reality of managing mental health concerns every day. 50% of lifetime mental health concerns begins by age 14.
During May, Daniel Hand High School joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Each Wednesday, the support staff will sponsor various activities to bring awareness and to promote mental health well-being.
As a reminder, tomorrow, Wednesday, May 5, we are encouraging students and staff to wear your favorite team shirt (school (sports team, music, etc.), community, college, professional) and "team-up" against the stigma of mental health.
