May 14, 2021 Remote Day, PTO Guest Speaker & More Dear Ryerson Families,
On Tuesday, May 18th there will be a shortened remote virtual day for students. The virtual school day on the 18th will be from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Classroom teachers will be sending out the schedule for the 18th and it will be accessible to view on your child's google classroom today. Please review this schedule prior to the 18th so that you know the "live" times for learning.
On Tuesday, May 18th the General PTO meeting will be held virtually at 7:00 p.m. The Zoom link will be sent out to families shortly. This meeting will have Mr. Frank Henderson, the principal of Brown Intermediate School, in attendance to answer questions regarding Brown School and the transition. I encourage all KHR Grade 3 parents to attend this informational session. In addition, the math coach, Mrs. Jen Maxwell and our language arts coaches, Mrs. Lisa Caldwell and Mrs. Michelle Horn, will be in attendance to share information related to summer learning activities for math and reading. There will be lots of great ideas shared with families. It will be an important presentation and one not to miss as we all prepare for the summer break.
The MPS Educational Budget Referendum for 2021-2022 is on Tuesday, May 18th. The hard copy packets for the week of May 17th for all distance learners will be available today after 4:00 p.m. These packets will be in the outdoor bins in the main entrance of the building. As always, hand sanitizer and gloves are available for everyone's safety.
I would like to remind all families who are picking up your child at the end of the day to be mindful of your assigned pick-up time. The reason for assigned times is to lessen the traffic on campus. Currently, there are many cars arriving for the 3:00 pm pick-up time and there is quite a back-up on the KHR campus. I thank you in advance for your attention to this reminder of our pick-up time process.
The lost and found located outside the main entrance of our building is filling up. If you are at KHR or in the area, please stop by and check it out. There are many water bottles, jackets, coats, sweatshirts and too many hats and gloves to count.
Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 is open. If you have a little one ready for Kindergarten, please register your child. The information for registration can be found on the MPS homepage.
I wish you all a great weekend. It looks like it will be a fabulous weather weekend. If you have any issues, concerns, suggestions or questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me at 203-245-6440 or at spoonerk@madison.k12.ct.us
Sincerely,
Kelly K. Spooner
