The Class of 2023 needs your support! This is the last call for our Boon Supply fundraiser! Boon Supply has many eco-friendly household items that make wonderful holiday gifts! Forty percent of your sale goes directly to the Class of 2023. The sale has been extended to November 5, 2021. Please click on the link below and share it with your friends and family. A Message from the School Counseling Department Beginning with the Class of 2023, credits required for graduation have changed and the details of the changes are listed on page 5 of the Program of Studies. As a graduation requirement, all students must earn 1.0 credit as a Mastery Based Diploma. This credit must be earned by successful completion of Independent Project (0.5 credit) and Personal Finance (0.5 credit). These courses align to the district's Profile of a Graduate, which details the capacities all students will acquire over the course of their K-12 education. Daniel Hand High School graduates will be able to think critically and creatively, collaborate and communicate well with others, be self-directed and think globally. All academic components for each of these courses will be assessed on a pass/fail basis using corresponding rubrics. This grading system is increasingly popular nationwide; consequently, colleges and universities are accustomed to seeing pass/fail grades for similar course offerings. If you have questions about these course offerings, feel free to contact your child's school counselor.
College and university representatives will be visiting Daniel Hand virtually this year. Please sign up in Naviance and click on the link the day of the visit. Students may use the school counseling department, the career center, or the Library Media Center to log into these visits.
