Good morning Daniel Hand High School community: Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the holidays and vacation. As we prepare to welcome students and staff back to school tomorrow, we continue to prioritize the health of our school communities and the importance of safely keeping our schools open. Please take a moment to review the information detailed below that includes reminders as well as some additional mitigation strategies we are putting in place at Daniel Hand High School in a continued effort to keep students and staff safe. - All school community members are reminded that masks are required to be worn properly (covering mouth and nose) when inside any school building before, during, and after school hours.
- Parents/guardians are asked to remind students to wear masks over their nose and mouth at all times when inside the building.
- Students are reminded that dividers are available for use during lunch waves in the Dining and Assembly Hall.

- Students are reminded that several heated tents in the courtyard allow for additional seating during lunch waves.
- Faculty members are reminded to adjust their desks to ensure there is 3 ft. distance between students when possible.
- Teachers will continued to hold PE classes outside as much as possible. Students please plan to dress accordingly.
- Faculty and Staff will continue to promote hand washing and appropriate mask wearing.
- Freshman/Sophomore students in study halls will not be allowed to go to other locations until further notice.

Families play an important role in our efforts to maintain in-person school. We ask that you please inform Nurse Lesnik if your child has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Additionally, if your child was recently vaccinated, please inform Nurse Lesnik and send proof of vaccination as soon as possible. I would like to thank all members of our school community for your cooperation and understanding as we work through the challenges of this school year. I am looking forward to our return to school tomorrow. Stay healthy, Mr. Salutari |
