Dear Jeffrey Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season with your family. While I have enjoyed every minute of being home with my family this winter break, I am truly looking forward to seeing my students tomorrow.
We will return to in-person learning on Monday, so as we welcome Jeffrey students and staff back to start the New Year, we will continue to prioritize the health of our school community and the importance of safely keeping Jeffrey open.
In an effort to keep students and staff safe, we will return to the building with the same increased COVID mitigation strategies that we enacted prior to the break. Those strategies include:
- Staff will continue to promote hand washing and appropriate mask wearing.
- Staff members have been asked to adjust student desks/tables to ensure there is 3 ft. distance when possible.
- Students will utilize a clear desk shield for the duration of the school day.
- Students will continue to eat lunch in their classroom with the use of their desk shield.
- Students will attend recess with their class cohort only.
- Teachers will continue to hold PE classes outside as much as possible.
- After-school PTO workshops are still on hold until further notice.
Families play an important role in our efforts. As the district has shared, please keep students home if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Common symptoms include:
- Fever
- Coughing
- Difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle, body, or headaches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea/vomiting and diarrhea
Please inform Maura Cutler if your child has been diagnosed with Covid 19. Also, as more children have received vaccinations, please inform the health office and send in proof of vaccination.
Parents/guardians are asked to remind students to wear masks over their nose and mouth at all times when inside the building.
We thank you for your cooperation and again, appreciate your understanding as we work through the challenges of this school year with optimism and dedication.
I welcome your contact if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Yours,
Becky
