January 21, 2022
Dear Ryerson Families,
I hope you all have an opportunity to join the PTO General Meeting scheduled for Monday, January 24th. Our meeting will be virtual and begins at 7:00 pm. Our SEL staff will be presenting at this meeting. The topic of their workshop is "How to Support an Independent Child/Student in 2022". The focus will be on reviewing typical developmental milestones, expectations and fostering autonomy, self-advocacy and independence in our young learners. We will also be sharing our KHR SEL "Pawsitive Program" during this presentation. A ZOOM link will be sent to you from the Executive PTO.
At this point, all families should have received an email from your child's classroom teacher regarding the Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for February 2nd and February 3rd. Please take a moment and secure a conference meeting with your child's teacher. These conferences will be virtual.
February 2nd and February 3rd are early dismissal days for students. Student dismissal for each of these days will be at 1:00 pm. Please plan accordingly for your child's dismissal plans on both of these days.
If you are interested in learning more about the School Renewal Plan and wonder how a former middle school is going to serve as a K-5 school; I encourage you to attend the Brown School Tour on Sunday, January 23rd. Tours will be provided from 1:15 pm – 2:00 pm and 2:15 pm – 3:00 pm. Those attending the tours at Brown School this Sunday will be required to wear a face mask while in the building on the tour.
For those students registered for Winter Workshops, the first session for Winter Workshops will begin on Thursday, January 27th. These workshops are held from 3:30 pm – 4:45 pm. Parents are expected to pick up their child promptly at 4:45 pm. Parents should wear their face mask when entering the building to pick-up their child. Thank you.
