Dear Ryerson Families,
After two years, the Scholastic Book Fair returned this week on the hill. It was quite an exciting week. The students were so excited to attend the Book Fair, select great books and share their new selections with their classmates. The energy from our young learners during this week was contagious and joyous! Thank you to all the parent volunteers and to the PTO Executive Board for making this possible for our students. Your time and support are greatly appreciated.
Next week is National Educator Appreciation Week. I would like to take this opportunity to be the first to recognize our exemplary staff at Ryerson Elementary School. We are an amazing learning community because of our teachers and paraeducators. These professionals are skilled, dedicated and most importantly, demonstrate daily their love of children through their actions and words. I am grateful to these professionals for all that they do for our students. I know you join me in thanking them for their impact on our young learners.
On May 3rd, our Grade 3 students will begin Smarter Balanced Assessment testing. Both a schedule and more detailed information regarding the testing window, the dates and the types of testing has been sent home in a prior notification to grade three families. I am asking that all grade three students arrive to school during these next two weeks on time. Your attention to his information is greatly appreciated.
