Visiting Author to Brown: Laura Schroff will be coming to Brown Intermediate School to speak with our 4th and 5th grade students on March 9th.
Ms. Schroff is the author of An Invisible Thread, Young Reader's Edition, a 2019 Parents' Choice Recommended Award winner, and a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Award. An Invisible Thread brings to life the inspiring true story of an 11-year-old panhandler, a busy sales executive, and their unlikely meeting with destiny in 1986. When Laura first met Maurice on a New York City street corner, she had no idea she was standing on the brink of an incredible and unlikely friendship that would inevitably change both their lives forever.
All Brown staff have been provided a copy of the book and over the next few weeks staff will be reading and discussing the book prior to her visit to Brown.
If you would like to purchase a copy of the book for your child, An Invisible Thread, Young Readers' Edition, is available online (Amazon.com or Barnesandnoble.com). For more information on Laura Schroff and her books, please visit her site: lauraschroff.com. On March 9, Ms. Schroff has agreed to stay after her talk to personalize and sign copies of her book for our students.
We are very excited to provide this special opportunity for our students. We are also grateful to Laura Schroff who will be presenting to our students at no cost.
Thanks,
Frank
