Brown School Initiative: Today, we had our first schoolwide discussion on the book An Invisible Thread. The focus of our discussion centered around the main message in this book: the importance of incorporating simple acts of kindness into our day. The author, Laura Schroff, will be visiting Brown on March 9th and she will be discussing the book with our students. She will also sign books on the day of her visit! If you haven't purchased a copy of the book for your child, there is still time. The book can be found on Amazon.com or Barnesandnoble.com.
In the spirit of kindness, beginning Wednesday, February 22nd, we will start our Brown Food Drive for Madison's Food Pantry. Donation boxes will be located at the entrance of our school.
Here are some items the Food Pantry is in need of:
• juice boxes and pouches
• small bags of Goldfish, cookies, Rice Krispies Treats, popcorn, PB and J, crackers, Pop Tarts
• cookie and brownie mixes
• canned ravioli, stew, chili
• checks made out to the Madison Food Pantry
Reminder: No school Monday and Tuesday, school resumes Wednesday, February 23rd.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks,
Frank
