Dear Ryerson Families,
The Ryerson school community has had a fabulous week on the hill learning about all the various fields of science and technology. While the hands-on experiments, the visit from Channel 8 meteorologists and the Mad Science assembly were fun; the most memorable and enriching experiences for us have been the science videos sent in from parents and shared with the students during morning announcements. We have so enjoyed them and look forward to viewing the others when we return from Spring Break! From science mystery readers to these science videos, parent support has been greatly appreciated by all of us on the hill.
Spring Break is upon us and we are all ready for some relaxation and fun outdoors! School will resume for all students and staff on Monday, April 17th.
I have a reminder from our PE department. Students may only participate in PE class when they are wearing sneakers. Students wearing sandals, flip flops, crocs, or boots will not be allowed to participate in PE class. This is for student safety. I thank you in advance for your support with this reminder.
The PTO meeting from March has been rescheduled to Monday, April 24th at 7:00 pm in the KHR library. Dr. Craig Cooke, Superintendent of Schools, will be our guest speaker. Dr. Cooke will be sharing the 2023-2024 MPS education budget and answering questions. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this informative and informational meeting.
I would like to thank the PTO for planning and coordinating last week's Variety Show. We have a very talented group of students. Thank you for making this possible for our students to showcase their talents. It was such a well attended and fun night for everyone.
The KHR Lost and Found is GROWING! There are many jackets, sweatshirts and coats hanging on the racks. Please take a moment this weekend or next week to stop by and locate one of your child's missing items. There are plenty of mittens, hats, scarves, gloves and water bottles also in this area.
I wish you all a wonderful April vacation. If you have any questions, concerns, and/or suggestions; please feel free to contact me at spoonerk@madison.k12.ct.us or at 203-245-6440.
Sincerely,
Kelly K. Spooner
