Thank you to Staff and Families I would like to thank the Polson Faculty and Staff for all of their work with our students. Middle school is a time of great change and growth in our children, and our faculty and staff play an important role in making those changes positive ones academically, socially, and emotionally. We are fortunate to have such a great team at Polson.
And speaking of teams, thank you to our Polson families. The school-family partnership is so critical to our students' success, and all of us appreciate your ongoing support and collaboration. We wish the best of luck to the rising freshmen, and we will see our soon-to-be 7th and 8th graders in the fall!
Lost and Found Time is running out…encourage your child to stop by the Lost and Found to pick up any missing items. All remaining items will be donated on June 14.
Chromebook & Charger Students will bring their Chromebook and charger home on the last day of school. Please keep it safe as they will need to bring it with them at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
Summer Math & Reading We are so proud of the gains students have made in their learning this year! To avoid any learning loss over the summer we encourage reading and some work in the area of math.
For students entering grade 9 summer reading recommendations and resources to keep math skills sharp are on the Daniel Hand website. Summer reading has been organized by grade/course/genre and recommendations by staff and students alike.
For students entering grade 7 and 8 next year summer reading recommendations are on the Polson website organized by genre, awards given, and Polson favorites. Resources to keep math skills sharp are on the Summer Math Google classroom. Your child became a member of this class this week and navigated through the site with their math teacher. Our hope is that students use the resources to ensure that they start next year feeling confident with the math skills and concepts they learned this year.
We encourage students to read at least four books of their choice over the summer. All students grades 6-8 have been offered a chance to find book ideas during a presentation with the library media specialist they will work with next year. A recording form and a full K-12 list also can be found on the Madison Public Schools website.
Have a great summer! Kathryn Hart & Martha Curran |
