Assistant Principal of Daniel Hand High School

The Board of Education, at a special meeting on June 24, 2013, appointed Brian Bodner as an Assistant Principal at the Daniel Hand High School. Mr. Bodner will replace Daniel Zittoun who will be assuming the position of High School Principal for the West Hartford Public Schools.

Mr. Bodner has worked for the past three years as Assistant Principal for Coginchaug Regional High School (Durham/Middlefield). Mr. Bodner has previous experience as a Social Studies Department Leader and Teacher for North Branford High School. In 2007-2008, he was awarded the North Branford School District Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Bodner received his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Master’s Degree in Education from Quinnipiac University and his Sixth Year Diploma in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut.

Superintendent Scarice stated that the district received a number of well qualified applicants for the posted High School Assistant Principal position. Mr. Bodner participated in a very rigorous multi-step interview process with various school and community representatives. Mr. Bodner comes to the district as a seasoned administrator.
Board of Education Chair, Deb Frey, commented that Mr. Bodner is a welcome new addition to Daniel Hand High School.

Mr. Bodner is looking forward to the joining the district and he is eager to work with and learn from the administration, faculty, staff, students and families of Madison.
