# DHHS Summer Mathematics Challenge

## Week 8

The week 8 challenge was another tough one, with only 4 students submitting correct answers.  The answer to the challenge was "November 26th" - please feel free to email perssonh@madison.k12.ct.us if you'd like an explanation of the solution.  Congratulations to Sam Wheeler (Grade 11) and Catherine Arrandale (Grade 11), who won the raffle and the black long-sleeved Tigers t-shirts!  Charlie Keogh (Grade 11) and Alex Osterman (Grade 9) also submitted the correct answer.

Thank you to all who participated in the DHHS Summer Math Challenge and helped it to become a success.  Hope you have a wonderful school year!

## Week 7

This week proved to be quite the challenge, with only three students answering correctly.  Congratulations to Federico Barrera (Grade 10), Charlie Keogh (Grade 11), and Sam Wheeler (Grade 11), who have each won gray long-sleeved Tigers t-shirts.   There is one week left to win some "Tigers swag"!

## Week 6

Week 6 proved to be a difficult one for the DHHS Math Challenge. Although several students came close, no one submitted the correct solution with an exact expression (including pi) and the appropriate label. As a result of the lack of correct responses, four long sleeve t-shirts are up for grabs as prizes for Week 7...keep playing!

## Week 5

In week five of the DHHS Math Challenge, juniors and freshman each contributed 42% of the responses! The problems are getting harder, and the "swag" keeps getting better! Congratulations to Kaia Lind (Grade 11) and Alex Osterman (Grade 9), who each won a DHHS Tigers baseball hat. There are 3 weeks left, and the prizes for each week will be long-sleeved Tigers t-shirts!!
