Wesleyan University High School Scholars Program

Wesleyan University offers a unique academic opportunity for exceptional juniors and seniors from selected area high schools through its High School Scholars Program. This program allows students to take one college-level course per semester on the Wesleyan campus.

Program Highlights:

  • Eligibility: Open to high-achieving juniors and seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence.
  • Course Load: Students may enroll in one course per semester.
  • Location: Courses are held on the Wesleyan University campus in Middletown, CT.

Admission Requirements:

To be considered, students should:

  • Have completed rigorous high school coursework such as AP, IB, concurrent enrollment, or the most advanced courses available at their school.
  • Have a strong academic record and a demonstrated ability to succeed in college-level classes.
  • Be responsible for their own transportation to and from Wesleyan University.
  • Be prepared to meet all academic expectations and course requirements set by Wesleyan faculty.

Application Process:

  1. Meet with your school counselor to express your interest and confirm your eligibility.
  2. Complete the Wesleyan High School Scholars application (available from the Counseling Office).
  3. Submit the completed application to the Wesleyan Office of Admission.
  4. Final approval and placement in a course is subject to permission from the Wesleyan course instructor.
