Extended School Year 2020

Madison Public Schools (MPS) just wrapped up a successful summer 2020 Extended School Year (ESY) Program. A total of 58 students participated in the program in-person and 47 participated virtually.

The District’s Special Education department surveyed families prior to the start of the program and found a strong preference for in-person learning. Staff worked hard to prepare socially distant learning spaces in three of our school buildings. We were excited to welcome staff and students back to the buildings on July 6.

Students did an excellent job of wearing their face coverings during the day. Nurse Coordinator Stephanie Lesnik worked closely with staff and students to ensure all help and safety guidelines are being followed.

The MPS ESY program ran July 6 - August 6.
