Madison Public Schools Integrated Preschool Program Enrollment for Peer Role Models

Madison’s Integrated Preschool Program is located at Brown Elementary School. Each classroom is staffed by a certified early childhood teacher who also holds certification in special education, as well as a full-time paraeducator.

Our integrated classrooms are designed to support a diverse group of learners and typically include a balanced mix of students:

  • Approximately half of the students have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and receive special education services.
  • The remaining students are peer models, who serve as role models in areas such as communication, behavior, and social interaction.

Peer Model Enrollment Process

Registration for 2026-2027 school year is closed. Families interested in enrolling their child as a peer model for the school year must participate in our annual screening and lottery process, which takes place each March.

To be considered for 2027-2028:
1. Registration will be open from September 4, 2026 through February 12, 2027.
2. By completing the registration form below, it adds your child to the waitlist.
3. In March 2027, there will be a screening and lottery process for all the students on the waitlist.

During the screening, the district looks for peer models who:

  • Demonstrate age-appropriate communication and language skills
  • Follow directions and participate in group activities
  • Are fully potty trained
  • Will be 3 years old by September 1st
