Tier II

Specific Supports with Progress Monitoring

While the Responsive Classroom approach will meet the needs of most of our students, we acknowledge that some students might need more targeted instruction.

The SRBI model for social emotional/behavioral interventions uses the same, continual, structured problem-solving process as academic interventions.

Step 1: Problem Identification (What’s the problem?)
Step 2: Problem Analysis (Why is it occurring?)
Step 3: Intervention Design (What are we going to do about it?)
Step 4: Response to Intervention (Is it working?)

In Tier II, we now make individualized plans for students in need of targeted instruction. These plans might include supports such as:

  • Group and/or individual sessions with counseling staff
  • Weekly Check in-Check outs
  • Push-In support from Social Worker, Guidance/School Counselors or School Psych
  • Daily/Weekly Feedback via Behavior Plan

Our school-based teams meet every six weeks to review each child’s plan and make adjustments accordingly.
