Sponsoring Scholarships

Awarded to a graduating senior member of Madison Youth Services’ Peer Advocate Program who has shown a significant level of caring for others and who has been accepted to a four-year college.

Awarded to member(s) of the graduating class who has been accepted into a college or technical school and who in his or her high school career, has faced adversity with a positive attitude and whose strong work ethic, courage, and perseverance has been an inspiration to others.

Awarded to members of the graduating class who have been DHHS music students and are planning to major or minor in music, or continue music education through classes, lessons, or participation in music groups at college, university, conservatory or other accredited institute of higher learning.  Applicants must have participated in a DHHS music program for at least 75% of the time that they attended here.  (For example:  if you were a student at DHHS for 4 years, you will need to have participated in a music program for at least 3 years - 2 years, at least 1.5 years of participation, etc.)   A juried audition is required.  Financial need is not a criterion for this award.

Awarded to a high school senior affiliated with the North Madison Volunteer Fire Company, either as an active member, son or daughter of an active member or as a junior fire fighter, who is pursuing a full-time degree program at an accredited two or four-year college.

Awarded to a senior who expresses a desire to enter the teaching profession and who demonstrates the qualities of integrity, generosity, and intelligence. This scholarship is renewable for four years provided the student remains a candidate for the teaching profession and maintains at least a 3.0 grade point average. An essay is required, explaining why you wish to enter the field of education.

Available to 2 deserving members of the graduating class who is furthering their education at an accredited school of higher education, who has worked during summers, weekends, etc. that demonstrates their desire and resourcefulness in helping fund their education, who demonstrates a need for financial assistance and has been involved in school, community and other outside activities.

Note: This scholarship also requires submitting the online General Application Form.

Available to a graduating senior who is furthering his or her education at an accredited institution of higher learning in the field of engineering, information technology, architecture, or related fields.

Awarded to a graduating female student who has been accepted to a four-year college or university program and who has demonstrated qualities of leadership, citizenship, and service to others as shown by active participation in student government, student organizations and/or other organizations. Financial need is not a criterion for this award.

Awarded to a member of the graduating class who demonstrated leadership in school activities, has been involved in community service and who plans to further his/her education studying business at an accredited institution.

Awarded to a member of the graduating class who demonstrated leadership in school activities, has been involved in community service and who plans to further his/her education studying business at an accredited institution.

Awarded to a deserving member of the graduating class who has attended Madison Hoop Dreams (formally Slamma Jamma) Summer Basketball Camp and who has demonstrated sportsmanship, a continuing interest in athletics, and a commitment to academics.

Available to a resident of Madison and a member of the graduating class attending one of the local public or private schools, demonstrating community involvement, high scholarship achievement and is enrolled in an accredited college or university for the upcoming year.

Available to a female member of the graduating class who demonstrates exceptional commitment to volunteerism/community involvement, high scholastic achievement, and who will attend a four-year college or university in the coming year. Financial need is not a criterion for this award.

Available to a member of the graduating class currently employed by Roberts Food Center and plans to further his or her education in a two or four-year College.  Proof of college admissions will be required.

Awarded to a member of the graduating class entering a college program to pursue the field of education.

Available to members of the graduating class who are planning to pursue a career in fine arts, photography, or art education.

Sponsored by the Daniel Hand High School Theatre Arts Program, this scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior of good character and academic standing who is planning to attend a college, university, or conservatory, and who has demonstrated a commitment to the theater arts while at DHHS. The applicant need not be planning to major or minor in theater or a related area to be eligible.

Awarded to a member of the graduating class who demonstrates the qualities of; integrity, generosity, and good citizenship. This senior must also have a parent who is an educator and a member of a local association. An essay is required explaining how as a child of an educator you have seen your parent impact their community.

Awarded to a high school senior who is pursuing advanced study either in the fields of visual/performing arts or in education in an accredited course of study up to and including a four-year degree program.  Scholarship is based on potential, character, ability, and need.
