Jeffrey Students Wear Crazy Socks to Support Cove Run

October 18, 2019 was a spirit day at Jeffrey Elementary School but it was a spirit day with a cause. Students could donate $1 to wear crazy socks to school all day. The donations go to The Cove, an organization that deals specifically with how children and teens manage grief after the loss of a parent or sibling or close family member.

Teachers and staff from both Ryerson and Jeffrey have formed a team, "K-3 Here for Me" which will participate in The Cove Race at Hammonasset on October 20th. The team will fundraise on behalf of the kids and families that rely on The Cove for support when someone in their family has passed away. Jeffrey Principal Becky Frost said that by donating and wearing crazy socks, students are cheering for "K-3 Here for Me" AND supporting The Cove's kids and families.
