Jeffrey Kindergarten Students Learn About Clay

January 28, 2020 – In Jeffrey kindergarten classes, the students are learning about the history, use and process of creating a pinch pot. The students begin with using a variety of ‘found objects” and clay tools to explore the different ways they can add texture to a clay slab. The following week after discussion and demonstration students will create their own pinch pot with a textured pattern on the outside.

The visual arts curriculum is currently under development and students are piloting some new units as the staff examines the impact of new national standards.
