Classroom Updates

Margaret Borden

I hope you will find the following information helpful regarding staff and classroom procedures:

Mrs. MaryBeth Giles   is our kindergarten paraprofessional.  She will be assisting me with instruction both in individual, small, and large groups within the classroom.

Snacks:  Please send in a snack and water bottle with your child each day.  Please write your child’s name and put the snack in a separate bag. The children’s lunch box should only have their lunch in it (not their snacks) so as to avoid confusion.

Lunch:  K Students will have the opportunity to purchase school lunch beginning on September 9th.  Please visit the Jeffrey School website for information regarding setting up your child’s account on-line. You may send a check to school which we will send down to the kitchen where it will be applied on your child’s school lunch card.

Birthdays:  We will celebrate birthdays in a non-food manner.  A crown will be presented to the birthday child and there will be a special recognition at class meeting where we will sing "Happy Birthday".  We will make a class birthday card as well!  Due to several severe food allergies in the building, if you wish to send in a birthday treat you may send in a non-food item such as a sticker or pencil for your child's classmates.  This is optional!  Balloons are not permitted due to latex allergies.

Clothing:  Please dress your child in comfortable clothing.  Be sure to label your child's clothing, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc... Please remember to have your child wear sneakers since we go outside (weather permitting) and have PE twice a week!

Drop Off:  School hours are:  8:50 AM-3:25 PM

(In the event of inclement weather:  Delayed opening is 10:20 AM/early dismissal is 1:00 PM)

To ensure the safety of your child please walk him/her to the teacher on duty at the drop off destination at the double doors at the end of the portables.  The duty teachers will direct your child to his/her classroom.

If there are extenuating circumstances and you need to walk your child to the classroom you MUST sign in at the office.  Your child's safety is our primary concern!

Pick-Ups:  Please be sure to send in a note if you intend to pick up your child from school.  If someone other than you is picking up your child please state this in the note.  You may pick up and sign out your child by the door at the side parking lot.
