Students will access the Internet by connecting to the WiFi  in their home.  School settings and filtering will continue on the Chromebook at home.

If you need technical assistance connecting to WiFi please contact your internet service provider.

If you do not have internet service at home Comcast and Frontier have special programs in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

If a student’s Chromebook needs repair, it is the student’s responsibility to bring it to the library media center as soon as possible. The Chromebook must be handed to a library media staff member along with a brief explanation of the problem. It cannot be dropped off on the counter.

Should repairs be necessary, a loaner Chromebook (if available) will be checked out from the library media center to the student. Teachers, students, and parents are prohibited from attempting repairs on district-issued Chromebooks.

If the Chromebook needs repair due to negligence, the family will be responsible for repair costs.

• Lost Chromebook/Damage beyond repair: $300

Students will access the Internet by connecting to the wireless at home, but will continue to have their internet access monitored by the MPS web filter. 

No, the settings on the Chromebook only allow "...@madisonps.org" accounts to login.

All students have gmail with their @madisonps.org Google accounts.  Settings on these accounts allow the students to communicate only with @madisonps.org and @madison.k12.ct.us email accounts.

The school issued Chromebooks do not connect to printers outside of school.

An alternative way to print, would be to use your family owned equipment.  

• Login to the student's @madisonps.org Google account on another device in your home.
• Print to your own printer.

Our students are getting bombarded with lots of email notifications from Classroom, which leads to important emails from us sometimes getting lost in the shuffle. Here's a video showing them how to control these notifications.
