Law Day 2024
Polson 8th graders participated in Law Day, a decades-long tradition that is the highlight of the year. Students attended sessions during the day, brought to us from presenters including the DEA, Madison Police Dept., CT State Police, Coast Guard, Sky Health, DEA, US Marshal Service, CT Dive Team, the FBI, and DEEP. Between the morning and afternoon sessions, students went outside to visit interactive displays such as those from the Coast Guard, the police department, and the Branford Fire Department. As a culminating event, students joined an assembly presentation from Madison mother Lisa Deane, founder of Demand Zero, an organization committed to the fight against opioid addiction. Thank you to all our presenters, (including the canine defenders of the law!) for volunteering their time to be with us on May 10; to the Polson PTO for providing breakfast and lunch for our speakers; and to Polson social studies teacher Art Robbins for organizing another wonderful and meaningful event.
