Polson Students Enjoy Healthy Living Class

It’s one of Polson Middle School’s unique electives. Created three years ago by Mrs. Susan Quinn, the Healthy Living class exposes students to a variety of life skills that can improve their health and foster life-long healthy habits.

Students learn about things such as yoga, mindfulness, healthy food preparation, and how to grow plants in the Polson greenhouse. The class also tends to its own Polson garden plot over at Bauer Park and often hosts guest presenters who share their expertise about related topics.

On Friday, January 31, Polson parent Emily Webster came to the class as a guest presenter. Mrs. Webster teaches theater at The Grove School and Country School. During her visit to Polson, she took students into the old gym for a variety of physical activities designed to get students moving, thinking, and more connected with their bodies.

Healthy Living is an elective course at Polson. Click to learn more about the district-wide commitment to educating the whole child.
