Polson Students Take Top Prizes in Peace Poster Contest

Polson Middle School students were recently recognized by the Lion’s Club of Madison for their entries to the Lions International 21st Annual Peace Poster Contest. The contest was launched decades ago to encourage children ages 11-13 in local schools and youth groups to visually answer the following question: how would they –from all cultures, all corners, all lifestyles – envision peace?

The Madison Lions Club has sponsored this international contest locally for the last 20 years. A total of 62 posters were submitted by Polson students and judged by artists from the Madison Art Society.  Madison Lions Club President Marinus deJongh thanked all students for participating.

“We congratulate all of the children on taking the time to consider and create their views of a better world, and we encourage each and every one to work in their communities to make their visions come to life,” deJongh said.
