Do you want a fun way to express yourself, make people laugh, and hang out with friends after school? Then you should join Act Up Club!

Act Up Club is led by Jack Hughes from MYFS and Kase Vradenburgh, and it's all about having fun through acting, games, and creating hilarious skits together. It's a great way to meet new people, try something new, and step a little outside your comfort zone (in the best way possible!).

This best part is that you don't need any acting experience at all! Just bring your energy, creativity, and sense of humor. Come check it out on Monday, March 30th - we can't wait to see you there! There is no fee for this club.

 

YOGA & HEALTHY LIVING CLUB

Want to stretch, strengthen, laugh, and learn how to take care of your body and mind? This is the place to be! We’ll try fun yoga flows, balance challenges, and stress-busting techniques. No flexibility required! Bring a friend and build healthy habits in a supportive, upbeat space. Yoga mats will be available.

 

TIGER TUTORS

Tiger Tutors is a space for students to receive individual/small group tutoring by Daniel Hand students. Tutoring is offered in any subject necessary. However, it is more than just tutoring! Tiger Tutors is an opportunity for Polson students to personally connect with high school students, learn what to expect at Hand, and much more. Additionally, Tiger Tutors teach students about strong study habits and organizational skills, and how to implement them and build them into a habit. These skills are valuable, and will stay with students throughout middle school, into high school and beyond, and can be applied outside of the classroom. Our tutors are looking forward to meeting and working with the Polson students!

 

MOVIE MAKING CLUB

In this club students will have the opportunity to participate in acting, story and script development, directing, costumes and costume design, cinematography and camera work, and post-production editing.  

After collaboration with the students on story ideas and overall story development the production phase of the short film can begin.  Each student will receive a digital copy of the short film they help create!  There is something for everyone in this club!

 

POOL NOODLE FENCING CLUB

Ready to duel… with a pool noodle? Join us for a fast, fun introduction to fencing where you’ll learn real footwork, basic rules, and how to score points — all using safe foam noodles. No experience? No problem. Just bring your energy and a willingness to move. The club meets every Tuesday after school and is led by Coach Ginsburg and members of the Daniel Hand Fencing Team. Come give it a try — en garde, Polson!

 

TABLETOP GAMING

THE NOVEL WORKSHOP

Do you have a novel you’re writing, or an idea you want to bring to the page? Join our novel workshop, where you’ll dive into the exciting world of novel writing! Students will explore the full writing process—from brainstorming ideas and developing characters to drafting and revising chapters. This is a space to share your work, give and receive feedback, and collaborate with peers who love storytelling. Together, we’ll inspire creativity, strengthen writing skills, and bring your stories to life.

 

RUNNING CLUB

Looking for a fun, low-pressure way to stay active? Join our 8-week Running Club, designed especially for Polson students who want to enjoy running in a non-competitive, relaxed environment. We’ll meet once a week to build endurance at your own pace through games, group runs, and fitness challenges. No racing, no pressure—just movement, fresh air, and fun with friends. All ability levels are welcome.

 

POLSON RINGERS

Come join the Polson Ringers! Students will learn to ring Hand Chimes, read notes and music, and work as a group to perform beautiful music together to share with the students of the Polson Community. 

 

TYPING & CURSIVE

Ever feel like your hands can’t keep up with your brain? Whether you’re trying to bang out that late-night essay or create a signature that actually looks legendary, this is the club for you. Learn the "pro" way to type so you can finish your essays in half the time. No more "hunt and peck"! We’ll practice the art of cursive, turning your handwriting from "messy" to "masterpiece." Fee includes an individual subscription to TypingClub for 1 year.

Intramural  Volleyball is now open to all students in grades 6-8.  All students must register by March 13.  This is a popular intramural so sign up soon as it is possible that the program will reach the maximum limit quickly.

 

INTRODUCTION TO SPEED TRAINING AND WEIGHTLIFTING - CLOSED

We are pleased to offer Introduction to Speed Training & Weightlifting intramural open to all students in Grades 6, 7, & 8.  It is a great opportunity to learn the proper fundamentals while working out.  The intramural will work Speed, Plyometrics, and Change of Direction out on the turf.  In the weight room, you will learn the core lifts with a constant emphasis on technique and safety.
