Ryerson Celebrates Chinese New Year
On Feb. 1, Ryerson students celebrated and learned about Chinese New Year. Students attended an assembly led by Mrs. Chin who spoke to students about traditions commonly associated with Chinese New Year, when the holiday is celebrated based on the lunar calendar, how animals are assigned to a year, and how her family celebrates the holiday.
Lunar New Year is one of the most important holidays of the year for over 1 billion people around the world. Ryerson students were excited to learn more about it and had lots of questions for Mrs. Chin.
