Ryerson Celebrates the Spirit of the Holidays with Winter Assembly

The Ryerson Elementary School community got ready for the holiday break with a Winter Assembly on December 19, 2019. During the assembly, students watched a slideshow of their classmates enjoying winter activities and participated in a holiday sing-along.

Before the assembly, each class decorated a two-dimensional gift box with a gift the class would like to give to Ryerson School. Some gifts included laughter, encouragement, friendship, and kindness.

While the assembly certainly had a holiday feel, the theme of the day was kindness. Ryerson School has placed a great deal of emphasis on embracing and encouraging kindness throughout the school community. To that end, during the assembly, Principal Mrs. Spooner read the book, “The Most Wonderful Gift in the World”, a story that follows two friends on a journey to deliver a gift to an unknown person.
