A Message to Parents of Incoming Kindergartners!

Welcome Kindergarten families! To prepare for our school adventure we encourage our kindergarteners to spend 20 - 30 minutes a day enjoying stories read aloud and talking about them. We hope you will regard this list as a suggestion of kindergarten authors and series that provides a springboard for a great reading experience this summer.  Modeling a love of books fosters the love of reading in your child.

The Scranton Library is an invaluable resource to help you connect your child with books, audiobooks, magazines and opportunities to spend time with other readers.

Please help your child keep track of his reading by either filling out a Summer Reading Recording Sheet of all titles that you've read together and submit it to his/her teacher in September or by participating in the Scranton Summer Reading program this summer which will help you track the time you've spent reading.
